At this year’s NAB Show, NewBlue set out to deliver a dynamic, highly visual experience that would showcase the power and flexibility of NewBlue Captivate live graphics in action. To achieve this, we needed a rock-solid NDI® workflow that could effortlessly route high-quality video across multiple demo stations, displays, and the central NEVCO jumbotron — all without the traditional headaches of baseband video distribution.
We turned to BirdDog.
With a mix of BirdDog X1 and Maki cameras, Play decoders, and BirdDog Central, we were able to craft a streamlined, low-latency signal distribution system that brought our vision to life.
A Smarter, Sharper Demo Floor
Each of our demo pods featured:
- X1 and Maki NDI Cameras for ultra-low latency, crystal-clear video capture.
- BirdDog Play decoders feeding large format monitors and secondary displays.
- BirdDog Central to manage routing between workstations and displays with incredible flexibility.
Using BirdDog’s tools, we could seamlessly:
- · Route NDI® signals from NewBlue Captivate running on our computers to multiple large screens, including a centrally located NEVCO jumbotron.
- · Share camera feeds between pods to demonstrate collaborative and distributed production workflows.
- · Instantly switch and reconfigure outputs without re-cabling or interrupting the flow of the demos.
NDI Done Right
The results spoke for themselves. Every demo looked sharp, responsive, and fully synchronized. Attendees could easily follow along with the graphics creation and playout process across screens of all sizes — and our team could focus on storytelling rather than troubleshooting signal chains.
